St. Paul Youth - General Information

Jen grew up in Iowa and earned a Bachelor of Biblical Knowledge and Psychology from Ozark Christian College. She has been involved with serving in youth ministry for 20 years and is passionate about helping students discover and fall in love with The God who fearfully and wonderfully made them. She has dedicated her life to meeting students where they are and guiding them as they take one step closer to Jesus. Outside of youth ministry, you will find her spending time with her husband Ken and their 4 children. She’s an avid 49ers fan which simply means she can relate to all the disappointed Browns fans out there.
St Paul Youth Ministry exists to help students move from passively living to passionately following Jesus. We strive to create an age-relevant environment for students to discover and experience what it means to relate to God as a teenager. Everything we do is geared toward meeting students where they’re at and helping them take next steps in their faith. We want each student that walks through our doors to feel cared for, welcomed, and that they belong.
SPY stands for St Paul Youth. It doesn’t matter how much information you throw at a teen unless you first spark their interest. We approach learning in a way that is fun and helps students wonder, discover, and own their faith. SPY is designed with this age group in mind and combines teaching from the Bible with funny videos, food, hanging out with friends, connecting with mentor leaders, games and more.
For twenty years now, we at St. Paul Lutheran Church have been using a much different approach to teaching catechism. This exciting approach was created by a company called FAITH INKUBATORS (honestly, that’s how they spell it). This approach gives a new and exciting means to our catechism program. We don’t just learn catechism, We EXPERIENCE IT!
The Clyde Community Youth Group provides a safe place for students to gather outside the traditional church setting. This group currently meets once a month for the 6th-8th grades and once a month for the 9th-12th grades. So far this year they have enjoyed:
  • playing slip and slide dodgeball
  • a life size game of Clue
  • doing service projects
  • having a 3 day spiritual retreat at Kalahari
  • and more!
This is a place students can easily invite their friends to “try out church”. We have a ton of fun and then connect the theme of the event to a relevant spiritual truth they can apply to their daily lives.

When:

  • 6th-8th Grade - 2nd Sunday of the Month @ 7:00-8:30
  • 9th-12th Grades – 4th Sunday of the Month @ 7:00-8:30
